How to Talk to Yourself: From Self-Doubt to Self-Confidence

[acf_rating]

In this book the author talks about different ways to feel better in your own mind and body. Everybody doesn’t feel good enough or bad about themselves once in a while; this book is meant to help through those phases. In this book you get taught that not all thoughts are worth believing Instead through observing them and practicing self-talk you can learn to cope with those negative thoughts.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s about a theme that concerns us all. I think everybody could need a little help not just to be kind to others but also to yourself. Its, I think, one of the best self-help books I have ever read. The book accompanies you onto a gentle journey to think more positively. The author offers a compassionate, intimate and powerful perspective on how our inner dialogues shape not just our self-esteem but also the relations we make, the decisions we take and how we see our life.

This book does not promise magical help but a guide to reflect our life. The whole book feels like a warm hug and the exercises that you find in the book they help much with self-reflection. Through the book you can really feel that the author put her whole heart and soul into it and that it comes from a very deep personal perspective. It’s maybe not a groundbreaking book, but it sends very important reminders that we often forget through the tumult of our everyday life.

I finish this review with my favorite quote from the book that will certainly stay engraved in my mind: “the world is cruel, therefore I won’t be”
